Privacy policy of the ATS S.p.A. website

The following paragraphs describe how the ATS S.p.A. website deals the personal data of users who access it.

The information due as to Art.13 of Law by decree nr. 196, June 30th, 2003 (from now on named “Privacy rules”) is exclusively referred to the ATS S.p.A. website,, and not to other websites possibly navigated by users through hyperlinks.

The given information is also compliant with Recommendation nr.2/2001, adopted on May 17th, 2001, by the European Authorities responsible for the definition of rules about personal data protection, inside the Group established after Art. 29 of Regulation nr. 95/46/CE. The Group specified minimum requirements for on-line collection of personal data, and, in particular, conditions, times and nature of the information which treatment owners shall provide to users when they access web pages, independently of access aims.

As a consequence of browsing this web site, data referring to identified or identifiable persons may be handled.

“Owner” of data treatment is ATS S.p.A., whose legal headquarters are in Milano, 20156 Via Montefeltro, 6.

Location where data are handled

Dealing of data related to web-services provided by this website takes place in the above mentioned headquarters and is allowed only to ATS personnel in charge of treatment.

No personal data derived from web-services is published.

Personal data provided by users are used only in order to execute the required service or operation and are communicated to third parties only if necessary to accomplish the task.

Types of handled data
Navigation data

IT systems and software procedures, which make this website work, during their normal operation acquire some personal data, the transmission of which is implicit in Internet web usage, based on TCP/IP protocol.

This kind of information is not gathered in order to be associated to identified interests, anyway its own nature might allow the Company to identify web users, through elaborations and association with data hold by third parties.

This kind of data includes “IP address” or domain name of the computer accessing the ATS website, resource address in URI format (Uniform Resource Identifier), request time, method used when submitting the request, size of the returned file, numeric code qualifying the response given by the web server (e.g. success, failure, etc.) and other parameters referring to operating system and IT environment.

These data are used only to retrieve anonymous statistical information about accesses and to control the correct functioning of the website.

We underline that the above mentioned data might be used to identify  responsibilities in case of crimes committed against the ATS S.p.A. website, or other websites connected or linked to it. Apart from this case, data referring to web contacts are kept only for few days.
Data willingly provided by users

As a consequence of asking for email sending to addresses specified in dedicated sections of the ATS S.p.A. website, we acquire some user’s personal data, including his email address, which is necessary to reply to him.

Specific summary information will be progressively shown in the web-site pages prepared to host these particular on-demand services.


No cookies are used to transmit information about personal data.

Not even  persistent cookies of any type, or methods to track users’ access, are used.

Usage of so-called session cookies (which are not persistently stored on users’ PCs and are usually deleted on browser close) is strictly limited to the transmission of session identifiers required to allow a safe and efficient web-site navigation.

The above mentioned session cookies used in ATS website avoid usage of other informatics methods which might threaten browsing privacy, and do not acquire personal data enabling users’ identification.
Optional delivery of personal data

Aside from what is specific to navigation data, as explained above, personal data required in forms and website sections prepared to manage on-demand services may be provided or not, depending on the user’s free choice.

Anyway missing data may prevent us from being able to answer to user’s requests.

Modality of data treatment and security measures
Personal data are managed through automatic or manual tools, only for the time strictly necessary to carry out the activity for which they were collected.

Specific safety measures are respected in order to prevent data loss, illegal or incorrect usage and unauthorized access.

Users’ rights

Persons whose personal data may be known to ATS, as possible consequence of website access, according to the classification given above, at any moment have the right to check the existence of such data in ATS, to know data contents and origin, to verify their exactness or to ask for integration, updates, or modification, as stated in Art.7 of “Privacy Rules”.

Interested persons have the right to ask for data deletion, for making personal data anonymous, and in any case to take position against data treatment.
